KATY, TX [June 6, 2024] – Sixty-one Katy ISD secondary college students have superior to the nationwide Scholastic Artwork & Writing Awards competitors — the nation’s longest working and most prestigious recognitions program for artistic teenagers.
These college students earned 70 Gold Keys on the regional competitors, with six college students receiving Gold Key medals for a number of artistic items.
“It’s a testomony to our wonderful arts program that these college students are being thought-about for nationwide honors in such a prestigious competitors,” mentioned G. Damon Archer, Government Director of Positive Arts. “Our college students’ pure expertise is nurtured by passionate educators and this is only one instance of much-deserved recognition.”
Every year, the Harris County Division of Schooling, which hosts the regional competitors, welcomes artwork submissions within the following classes: structure and industrial design; ceramics and glass; comedian artwork; design; digital artwork; drawing and illustration; editorial cartoon; expanded tasks; style; movie and animation; jewellery; blended media; portray; pictures; printmaking; and sculpture. The competitors additionally acknowledges writing submissions in important essay; dramatic script; flash fiction; journalism; humor; novel writing; private essay and memoir; poetry; science fiction and fantasy; and quick story.
