Man Convicted of Capital Homicide and Sentenced to Life in Jail



SAN MARCOS, Texas – Hays County Felony District Legal professional Kelly Higgins introduced immediately {that a} Hays County jury convicted 30-year-old Lapear Willrich of Capital Homicide final week after a trial that lasted virtually two weeks. District Choose Sherre Tibbe sentenced Willrich to life in jail with out the potential of parole on the conclusion of the trial.

Willrich was the second defendant to be convicted of capital homicide within the case that stemmed from a house invasion theft on the Village on Telluride flats in San Marcos on June 5, 2019. Throughout the crime, 23-year-old DeMarcus Trey Allen had been asleep in the lounge and was shot and killed. The crime was captured on a house video surveillance system. San Marcos Police detectives have been in a position to join Willrich and his codefendant to the crime via their investigation.

Willrich’s codefendant, 28-year-old Jon Jervis, was convicted and sentenced to life with out parole in 2022.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Katie Arnold and Abigail Whitaker.
